Twisted Metal Anthony Mackie will be broadcast on Peacock
The NBC Streaming Service, Peacock, ordered the first TWISD METAL adaptation season of PlayStation Productions, which will showcase Anthony Mackie. The show, based on Sony’s automotive combat game, will be cut into 30-minute episodes and will see Captain America’s star playing a character named John Doe, who is responsible for delivering a package in a desert filled with drivers to the Easy trigger – including some psychotic clown.
“Twisted Metal has been a global phenomenon for more than 25 years, but it is the creative vision of this live adaptation, led by Michael Jonathan Smith, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who has spoused us,” said NBcCiversal Television and Streaming.. said Lisa Katz. “Also, Anthony Mackie featured it undeniable! This comic adrenaline series is in expert hands with our partners by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Universal Television, and will be the perfect complement to Peacock while we continue to look for unique entertaining programs.
Jeff Frost and Jason Clodfelter of Sony Pictures Television Studios added, “We are delighted that our first series with our good Peacock friends is with our incredible Electric Avenue partners, Universal Television and our colleagues from PlayStation Productions. Michael Jonathan Smith and Rhett and Paul have ingeniously gave life to this comedy full of action and we are so lucky to have Anthony in the center of the series. We look forward to this incredible team that will expand the public with this twisted and inventive concept.
There is no word on a target release date or any other information about its distribution beyond Mackie, but we are sure that it will follow in a timely manner. PlayStation Productions has recently experienced its first success with the movie Uncharted, who stormed the cinemas – and the next The Last of Us of HBO should make a sensation during his launch next year.
